The law is supposed to go into effect on July 29th 2010. As of July 2cond the courts have not blocked it from going into effect as scheduled.
- I know from a friend that apposes the law that the retoric against is emotional not factual. She claimed that police officers were already enforcing the law and locking people in jail that did not show their identification. when pressed she could not or would not show any documentation of such occurences.
-The Govenor announced yesterday that they expected people apposed to the law to intentionally try and catch police officers over stepping the laws intent. I can for see many people intentionally not carrying their drivers licence while driving. I hope the courts are aggressive in prosecuting those not obeying our laws just to prove a point. Because driving on public roads is a privledge not a right, one of the rules to have that privledge is carry your drivers licence and display it for the police officer when asked.
