Was born in canada and received american citizenship

I was born in Canada-Edmonton, AB July, 1958 and came to U.S. in Nov. 1958. Both parents were Canadian at time as well. I had a green card up until I became an american citizen in 2001. My question. Am I still considered a Canadian citizen even though when sworn in in CT they said you renounce any other citizenship. I spoke to the head of Canadian immigration (I was given his name and number when I went through Canadian customs for work) and he informed me that unless Canada says I'm not a Canadian, I still am.

The reason I'm asking is my son may want to go to McGill Univ. in Montreal (where my family on my father's side still lives) and would like to be eligible for citizen tuition rates.

You're still a Canadian citizen and have dual nationalities. All individuals born outside Canada but within one generation of the native-born or naturalized citizen parent are automatically recognized as Canadian citizens, so McGill will get a transplanted "Yank" pretty soon. You should start the paperwork soon to make sure he gets on the eligibility list. Contact the university registrar as soon as you can.
