I think it's ridiculous, Arizona is at least trying to solve a huge problem,they get a lot of the criminal element there.

I believe the federal government would be better served to spend the money on more border patrol agents,
-For starters there are already five law suits of a similar nature pending for hearing. Any one of those could get bumped up to the supreme court making the federal suit redundant.
-Then the federal suit is something about state power superceding the federal jurisdiction while the wording of SB1070 mirrors and refers to the federal statue. for my non-legal mind this seems like political posturing.
-I listened to the lawyer that wrote the bill that became the law. He had dealt with such cases while in legal practice and was confident the law would stand up to any legal scrutiny.
-The hearing is coming up next week. the judge will probobly put a stall on the implementation untill all of the legal wrangling is finished. In the mean time the Fed is promising a revamp of the immigration system. A revamp of the immigration system when all they need to do is enforce the laws currently on the books!
